I've been reading the wiki on all the unique items different professions can get in Nightfall. I'm a lvl 11 (almost 12) Paragon/Monk and I wanted to know if I can get Hassin's Shell. The wiki says its a Paragon only item, which I assume means only Paragons can get. I have a couple questions about the conditions.

1. Can a "cross-class" character get it (the shell)? Should I have gotten it before I took up the Monk profession at lvl 5?

2. Do I have to leave my heroes out of this? Will the item drop if they are with me?

3. Does it matter who actually "kills" the Hassin Softskin? If one of my heroes land the last blow will the item still drop?

I tried getting it 3 times (consecutively), and it didn't drop. Is it random? If so, whats the percent chance it drops?

Thanks in advance. I tried searching, but that didn't help out too much..

It's listed as a "paragon item" because it is dropped by a paragon boss, and usually items dropped by a certain boss have a requirement of that profession.

However, this isn't the case here, as it is a low-end green without requirement. Therefor anyone can wield it with full effect.

It doesn't matter who actually kills the boss, drops are assigned randomly. However, the more people in the party, the smaller the chance you'll get the item once it does drop (note that when using heroes or henchies, the items "assigned to them" don't even drop, making it look like the item never ever drops).

Most greens have a rather low droprate, and the more people in the party, the smaller the chance you will get it (as you only get part of the drops). Best way would be to solo the boss till it drops.

Greens drop very rarely (5-10%). Each boss though has a different odds rate. Some drop very frequently. Some that are overfarmed drop like .5% of the time.

The more people in your party, the less chance it will drop for you (think of it this way, it does drop, but it gets assisgned to a henchmen, so you don't see it).

By being a "paragon" item, it just means it drops from a paragon boss. Anyone can get the item. Personally, I wouldn't worry to much about getting it if I were you. There will be lots of better shields available fairly soon later in the game.

its says its a paragon "green" because it was made primarly for paragons to use...any proffesion can use it...just it is probably best used by a paragon over other proffesions...greens are rare drops...you could get them 1st time or not at all in 50 attempts *coughs*

Oh dang.. I've been trying for the last hour to get it. I wanted it, but not THAT much, lol.

Ah, I guess I'll wait to find another shield.

Yes paragon only means its meant for a paragon it is better if you dont have heros or henchies cuz somtimes the item will drop for your henchies or heros

yeah drop rate is very low if you do it with heroes and henchies. i lost count how many times i killed stonereaper before it dropped the curse staff. probably more than 25 times. i also killed the woespreader to get the death staff, many times, lost count, but up until now it hasnt dropped it yet. then i saw someone selling the woespreader for 1K..so i grabbed it. it's for my olias.

I was just hugging walls earlier in 'Eternal Grove' when I was lucky enough to have 'Vera' drop. I haven't had a green drop for quite a while, and when it does it happens to be a quite rare one.
